Role: Member Service Representative

DMCU's Member Service Representatives assist members in all aspects of the credit union’s savings products and services. Provide up-to-date information, answer questions, research and resolve discrepancies and maintain all documentation for savings products and services.


  • To open and close the branch.
  • Vault Access.
  • IRA certified.
  • Welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional, and timely manner, providing prompt accurate and efficient service on all savings products and services.
  • Respond to member inquiries regarding products received in person, by telephone or electronically, in a timely manner.
  • Set up savings or IRA’s.  Enter all required information into the credit unions computer system and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation that complies with State and Federal regulations. 
  • Open accounts, including IRA’s.
  • Closes Accounts
  • Research and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Ability to become IRA certified.
  • Attend educational seminars to retain certification.
  • Generate reports as requested by management.
  • Perform cash servicing duties (teller duties). 
  • Handle requests from members for transfers, deposits, loan payments, check requests, amusement park tickets and any other requests received from members.
  • Responds to member’s requests, problems, or complaints and/or directs them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
  • Maintain cash drawer within the limits in the “Frontline Resource Guide”.
  • Balance cash drawer accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Cross-sell credit union products and services.
  • Perform loan processing duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Membership Officer if elected.
  • Report to work at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center branch as needed if working at the Detroit office. 
  • Audit accounts for accuracy.


Role: Collections Clerk
Location: Clawson office located at 625 N. Main Street Clawson, MI 48017

DMCU's Collections Clerk provides clerical assistance to the Collection Department. Answer phones, process correspondence, and maintain accurate files. Contact member to determine the reason for the past-due condition of a loan. Make recommendations on actions that should be taken if loan collateral is in jeopardy, reporting to the manager.


  • Process correspondence for collections department, ensuring accuracy of work. Create form letters and provide general administrative support.
  • Maintain collection files according to department procedures.
  • Input data into the credit union’s collection system and generate reports as requested.
  • Respond to telephone calls and text regarding payment notices and delinquent accounts.
  • Mail delinquent payment notices, ensuring that credit union errors are detected promptly and corrected.
  • Provide members with a complete explanation of the loan’s status as requested.
  • Follow up on delinquent loans and make calls and text regarding payments.
  • Maintain a detailed written record of all communications made regarding the delinquency in our core system.
  • Prepare information needed or required by collection agency or attorney, and post receipts from collection agency.
  • Assist members with credit life, disability and unemployment forms as needed.
  • Take payment from members over the phone and direct them how to set up payments online.
  • Complete the visa overlimit report weekly.
  • Upload insurance provided by members to the insurance folder and member file.
  • Complete the loans paid in advance report.
  • Process Levies & Garnishments as the are served on DMCU.
  • Some light filing.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
