How to get access to a credit union account after death?

There are several factors that play into how to get access to a credit union account after a death. If the account is jointly or is in a trust, it can be accessed by the joint owner or trustees. If that is not the case, it can’t be touched until the estate is settled in court unless a judge grants an executor or estate administrator access.
